In 1962, Penny Banks and Clarke MacDonald set aside summer plans in Saskatchewan and Ontario to work with 600 untrained teachers in Nigeria. Thus began Project Overseas. Since then, more than 2,000 Canadian teachers have helped colleagues in 59 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
